Dog Days

When you live with an adult male and two semi-adult males, you sometimes find odd things laying around the house.

Like a hookah on your kitchen counter.

Don’t ask.

You learn, after a while, that sometimes it’s easier to just pick up after them and move on because you really don’t want to know.

This morning, I found an empty, lidless, Tostito’s Nacho Cheese Dip container on the landing. It was clean as a whistle, no sign that it had ever contained anything.

I thought to myself, that’s odd. I picked it up and put it in the trash.

As I turned around, Sebastian, our Big Galoot Retriever (yes, that is an AKC recognized breed) poked his head around the family room doorway with a guilty expression on his face and something in his mouth which he dropped at my feet.  He then slowly backed into the family room and out of view.

It was the lid to the cheese dip container.

Mystery solved.
